World Hearing Day 2018: raising awareness around the globe

World Hearing Day 2018: raising awareness around the globe
February 28, 2018smarthearingNewshearing losshearing quizworld hearing day

World Hearing Day is all about prevention, detection and treatment.

World Hearing Day is on Saturday March 3.

This year’s theme is “Hear the future”.

World Hearing Day 2018 will draw attention to the anticipated increase in the number of people with hearing loss around the world in the coming decades.

It will focus on preventive strategies to stem the rise and outline steps to ensure access to the necessary rehabilitation services and communication tools and products for people with hearing loss.

What should you do to preserve your hearing?

  • Protect your hearing by using earplugs or ear muffs
  • Limit your exposure to loud sounds and environments
  • Lower the volume on your devices
  • Have your hearing checked regularly by a qualified hearing care professional

According to Gary Rayment, Hearing Care Professional at Smart Hearing Solutions in St Agnes:

We need Australians to understand the various degrees of hearing loss and ear and balance disorders.

We want to help them feel part of the conversation again

Take our 3-minute quiz to see if you might have a hearing issue – or call Heather or Leeanne in the clinic on 1300 442 776 for a free hearing check.
